Rural Broadband (Wireless/RBI)

Rural Broadband (Wireless/RBI)

For Rural Broadband customers needing high-speed Internet, we offer different levels of Wireless Broadband plans to suit your needs.

RBI (Rural Broadband Initiative)

The Rural Broadband Initiative (RBI) was a New Zealand (NZ) Government drive to help give rural New Zealanders access to fast and reliable wireless broadband.

Wireless Broadband

Through wireless technology, Internet towers provide broadband coverage to those in range, much like television transmitters. For those within range, your modem receives the wireless signal directly, eliminating the need for a rooftop aerial or an in-person installer to set it up.

However, if your premises are not in range, and you are outside the ‘4G Plug and Play’ broadcasting range, an aerial must be installed and your Rural Broadband set up.

Top Speed: 20Mbps download and 20Mbps upload (approximate maximum speeds).
